“Why is your OC a girl?”

I’ve had this question asked to me many times over the course of being a Brony musician. I used to see Forest Rain as being androgynous— without a gender. So I used gender neutral pronouns “sie” and “hir” to describe the character. My OC has always been a reflection of who I am. However— people learn more about themselves, and change and develop as life goes on. And this leads me to an important announcement:

I have recently come out as trans.

I Am Myself

I Am Myself (What it means to me) – SteelChords

When I started writing “I Am Myself”, it started out as simply writing a song for my favorite character in the show, Derpy, but when I went through the process of writing the lyrics, I found that I put much more personal experience into writing them than I’d originally intended.

When I was younger, throughout all of Elementary and Middle School (K-8th Grade) I was looked at as a bit of an outsider...

Never give up, be positive, and spread positivity to others

My name is Jeremy Wanzer, and I have been diagnosed with a couple mental disorders, mainly Bipolar, but with another that has apparently stumped every psychiatrist I’ve gone to, as it has changed at least 3 times and has finally been removed this last time I was tested and such.  There will be no names other than my own, to protect privacy and such.

I was originally diagnosed with Aspergers and Bipolar around age 8, and since then, looking back, I have noticed that my mother started changing ...

Blue Lightning Never Giving Up

Hello to all.

My name is Blue Lightning.

I am only 19. Just got out of high school last year.

My story…is a lengthy one. Every year of my life has been filled with hardships, anger, sadness, and pain. However there has been love.

Beginning from when I was first born, I was identified as having chronic kidney infections, spina bifida aculta (missing vertebra in my lower back), ADD, and keratosis pilarous (a form of eczema). From the get go, I was very different…and I knew it.

At the age of two, ...

The Mighty Michael Stream is Ongoing!

The 24-hour livestream benefiting Michael Morones and his family kicked off just 4 hours ago, and is ongoing!

Tara Strong joined the stream right off the bat with some very inspiring words, serving as a true role-model to this community. She brought up the fact that if you’re being bullied– it is not your fault. The fact that someone is bullying you has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with the bully having a sad need to try to find power in their life by demeaning or hurting others...

For Michael

Hi folks, Forest Rain here with some sad news and an important announcement.

Michael Morones

Very recently, we learned that an 11-year-old boy named Michael Morones attempted to take his own life as a result of bullying on account of being a brony. While the attempt was, thankfully, not successful– Michael has been left with severe brain damage, and his family has been left with the medical expenses. His family has reached out to the brony community for help with these medical expenses, and we are responding a...

Hi, my name is Joshua Loihle

I am known by a few people as Planter, I have been through a lot, I guess it starts when I was around 4 or 5, I was a very interactive kid, I liked talking to people and learning about them, that changed quickly though, it was with three of my best friends, I was talking to them during recess, when out of no where, the three guys, I thought I could trust threw me into a hole, and then went and told everyone things I only trusted them with...

Putting the “Smile” back in Smiley

Hello, my name is Hallie Smiley, or as some people know me on the internet, eillahwolf.

Well, I guess I should start my story off from the beginning… Back in 5th grade, I had some “friends” that turned their backs on me and pretty much ignored me. Unlike most people who have to face harsh words from their peers, I had to face silence. Instead of being pointed out of a crowd, I was almost completely ignored...

How great and special you are

Hello, my name is Jesse, but I mainly go by the name of Arkanium.Arkanium

The first day of my social life at school wasn’t much of a success as I couldn’t communicate with the others. I would usually stay in one spot and be quiet and alone for the whole day. Everyone around me would avoid me and call me a “Demon’s Monster” behind my back. This really made me sad and angry.

When I got to my 4th year of school, aged 8, I started to get bullied both physically and verbally...

My lost spark and how you all helped me rekindle it

Golden FussHello, my name is Harley Hill, but I go by Vulpe Ljubavi mostly online. I just wanted, no, “needed” to thank this site, all the wonderfully inspiring stories and people on it, and a very special thanks to the whole brony community.

I guess I should start from the beginning.
When I was growing up, I never could connect with people the way other kids could. I was always seeing affection and was never able to relate on a human level...
